Automating researches

A commercial real estate developer who is constructing a new business district wanted insights of the needs of the future workers within the district to provide them a better experience and new material to use for marketing purposes. We suggested an online survey for such a wish.

As we started off with a hunch that we might need to create more than one survey and analyse more data in Excel later on, we decided to automate them. We used QlikView and Qlik Sense for it. It gave us the flexibility in analysing and the opportunity for the client to have it in an interactive form.
All of the responses we stored within a database within Qlik and normalised the raw data later for the analysis.

Most of the responses for the surveys came from the companies already signed the lease agreements with the district, while the rest came from through other channels. Due to some tenants wanted to edit their questionnaire which they give to their people, we ended up with 5 different surveys with 13 to 15 questions in 3 different languages. The number of questions ranged from 13 to 15.

Result

The client got a 24/7 accessible interactive report where they can fiddle with the data as they please – e.g. how many people from a certain city, district or with socio-demographic group opt for a specific answer from another question. This option will be beneficial to understand differences in target group behaviour and to calculate the possibility to answer to their needs.
